Kassy's and Jessica's Compostition in Photography Assignment.

For our composition in photography assignment, our compositional elements were Camera Angle and Light&Shadow.

Camera Angle
When using a camera and trying to get a professional looking photo as possible, a key aspect is the use of the way the camera is positioned. This is called the Camera Angle. For example, if you want a person to look more intimidating, you would not shoot from a higher angle, looking down. You would most likely have a closer growing view of the person.

In this photo, the camera angle is very effective in trying to make this statue more intimidating (Low Angle).

In this photograph, the angle is directly center, showing more detail and giving off a more straight forward view of this photo (close up).

Light and Shadow
Another imperative characteristic in photography is the lighting. Without enough light, you won’t be able to see all f the details that you may want to. But if you have too much lighting, the piece will look to blown out. Depending on what mood you want for the picture, the lighting and shadows will contribute greatly.
For example, if you want a scarier photo for a Halloween poster, the lighting needs to be fairly dark in some places but the contrast needs to be higher, giving a more dramatic outcome.

The lighting in this shot is much better for a calming and cooler effect. It has enough lighting to show all the details and the shadows. But at the same time there isn't too much lighting that it's blown out.
